Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing is actively seeking an experienced Construction Accounting Manager to join their client's team in Nevada. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and possesses extensive knowledge in construction accounting and management. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in financial reporting, job costing, and team management, ensuring that all financial operations align with company goals and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Accounting

  • Manage and oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and payroll. Union payroll experience is essential. MUST HAVE UNION PAYROLL EXPERIENCE.
  • Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Maintain the integrity of accounting records and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and review month-end journal entries.
  • Monitor revenue recognition and contract accounting, including work-in-progress (WIP) reporting.
  • Support annual audits, reviews, and tax reporting requirements.

Construction Accounting & Job Costing

  • Oversee job cost accounting and project profitability reporting.
  • Monitor project budgets, cost tracking, and forecasted margins.
  • Review contract billings, retainage, and change order impacts.
  • Assist project management teams with financial analysis and reporting.

Cash Management & Treasury

  • Manage cash flow reporting and forecasting.
  • Monitor banking activity and maintain adequate liquidity.
  • Oversee debt compliance, borrowing base reporting, and lender requirements.
  • Support the CFO with treasury management initiatives.

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Manage sales and use tax reporting, business licenses, and other compliance filings.
  • Evaluate and improve accounting processes and systems.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise accounting staff and provide leadership, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Establish departmental goals and performance standards.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Support recruiting, training, and development of accounting personnel.

Budgeting & Financial Analysis

  • Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
  • Analyze operating results and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Prepare financial reports and presentations for executive leadership.
  • Provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Construction industry accounting experience preferred.
  • Union and certified payroll experience necessary.
  • Experience with job costing, WIP schedules, and percentage-of-completion accounting preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems.
  • Experience with ERP and construction accounting systems preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • High degree of integrity and attention to detail.

Required Work Hours

Monday to Friday, during standard business hours.

Additional Details

Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 per year.
